The Andrew J Vitner Memorial Golf Outing will return for its 14th anniversary on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Huntley’s Whisper Creek Golf Club.
The Andrew J Vitner Foundation, also known as Andrew’s Army, is a non-profit organization founded in the fall of 2006 in memoriam of Andrew James Vitner. Born November 23rd, 2005, Andrew was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at just three weeks old. Parents Stephanie and Bob Vitner have committed to preserving the inspiration that Andrew’s courage has brought to so many by inviting their community to fight for “happier, healthier tomorrows for all children” as Andrew’s Army.
The organization supports the development of treatments and cures to combat various childhood illnesses by collaborating with Chicagoland families and businesses including hospitals and fellow non-profit groups. Amongst ample efforts, the annual golf outing is their largest fundraiser, collecting over $145,000 of the organization’s lifetime crowdfunding of $170,000.
Saturday’s event brings an 18-hole scramble starting at 12:45 PM, followed by a raffle, silent auction, and multiple opportunities to compete on the green. The day concludes with a dinner and award ceremony all in the name of advocacy for the wellbeing of our youth.
