How We Find the Best Candidates

Last week, our blog featured one of ExecuTeam/Team1Medical Staffing’s star recruiters, Jessica Randolph, and all of the hard work she does for our clients. She is one in a team of many recruiters and staff who search for the best candidates to match with the best companies in Houston. For over 29 years, ExecuTeam/Team1Medical Staffing has refined the process for selecting the best candidates.

We work directly with the client and tailor each search to that client’s needs, and we take those needs into consideration as we balance the length of the search with the depth of the search. Our recruiters only select the best! Our first step is to conduct a search in our database to identify qualified candidates who have already submitted an application and interviewed. With these candidates, we have already begun the process and intensify that process to meet a client’s more stringent needs.

If we feel none of our current candidates fit the position, our recruiters review numerous new resumes. In order for potential candidates to get an interview with our recruiters, their resumes must be of a high enough quality to warrant a phone interview, and this brief interview is conducted before the candidate comes in for a face-to-face interview. This process happens before the candidate’s resume is sent to the client.

Each search is tailored to each position and client. Our staff performs pre-employment background checks including county criminal checks, employment and license verifications.  Candidates placed within our Team1Medical branch are subjected to a healthcare sanction check as well.  ExecuTeam utilizes proven and validated employee assessment tools to assess if a candidate’s skills are suited to the position, and clients can request candidates with certain scores and above. Also upon the client’s request, ExecuTeam’s Staffing Consultants can perform additional background checks including education verification, drug screening and credentialing.

Upon the client’s request, we coordinate a variety of drug screening and more extensive background checks on candidates. When a job offer is extended to the candidate, we then also conduct education verifications, reference checks, past employment verifications, and credentialing.

Not only do we complete these various checks, but we also strive to provide the tools our candidates need to better themselves. We offer opportunities for candidates and current employees to update some of their credentials. For example, in the month of September, we will be hosting the instructors from the Red Cross for a CPR/AED certification session at our office. We also provide candidates training modules which allow candidates to refresh themselves on the intricacies of programs within Microsoft Office. Our recruiters also work with the clients and their schedules in order to coordinate the candidate’s onsite training specific to the company.

Our recruiters and support team are experts at streamlining this process to fit the client’s needs and required level of stringency. Although our process can be quite intensive, we also provide the flexibility needed to find the best fit. The result is a qualified candidate joining the right team.
